Our Goals and Purposes:TEERS1. TEERS operates as a local, national and international humanitarian rescue and educational organization whose members, as a condition of membership, must operate without regard to race, color, religion or politics;
2. We train and maintain provincial, national and international Rapid Deployment Rescue Teams capable of providing immediate relief to victims of sudden catastrophes whether they are the result of man-made or natural causes;
3. We maintain and operate an international Disaster Management and Mitigation Training Institute teaching a standard method of disaster management and response, the advantages of our methodology and technologies in order to create a more effective, unified international approach to the mitigation process from both man made and natural disasters;
4. In partnership with our corporate sponsors we are creating and promoting annual national and international Environmental Design Awards, bursaries and scholarships at both the secondary and post secondary educational levels. We will accept applications from other areas as may be suggested by the membership and approved by the Board of Directors from time to time;
5. Our rescue teams are trained in preventing and relieving sickness and disability, both physical and mental, to victims of major disasters;
The Environment6. We are ready to preserve the environment through direct action of Rapid Deployment Teams and TEERS-For-The-World provides factual and non-biased educational materials to the general public, schools, community groups and all interested parties so that they may make their own choices based on fact and TEERS provides assistance for community clean-up projects;
7. In 1998 we hope to undertake training programs and projects to prevent environmental damage caused by man made and natural disasters in populated and remote areas and the relocation of victims to safer place;
Children8. All of TEERS members are especially concerned with protecting the safety and welfare of children during a major disaster;
TEERS-Canada9. TEERS-canada provides counseling services for people in distress during times of and as a result of a major disaster;
10. Our Rapid Deployment Teams attempt to provide public amenities to benefit the community during major disasters (i.e. - water, power and medical facilities);
11. TEERS-canada's field operations will provide, if requested, a Rapid Deployment Mobile Animal Shelter and Hospital (MASH unit) to prevent cruelty to animals as a result of natural or man-made disasters;
12. Our International Relations Specialists liaise with countries' government representatives and disaster planners, to help plan for a rapid exceptance of international assistance, should the need arise;
13. International Relations Specialists work to initiate and actively assist with contracts or agreements with government agencies and / or private entities in undertaking programs and projects that promote our objectives and our mission;
TEERS-international14. TEERS-international volunteers run local responders programs in developing and remote areas of the world, therefore utilizing local resources during disasters;
15. TEERS-international volunteers establish, maintain, operate and manage such educational undertakings and activities that promote international emergency rescue technology essential for the protection and welfare of the global community;
16. TEERS-For-The-World, along with our volunteers and sponsors, initiates and actively assists in the establishment of programs that preserve, conserve and enhance the environment and the ecological balance;
17. TEERS-international strives to provides opportunities for the development of potential urban and rural leaders through participation, training and actual field work;
18. TEERS-international's efforts involve the general public in environmental emergency response through education and supporting, non-voting memberships;
Age of the Humanitarian19. In 1996, TEERS-canada founded the Age of the Humanitarian and began making cooperative rescue agreements with international non-government rescue organizations. We hope to provide logistics and financial support to their team efforts when and where applicable;
20. Part of TEERS-canada's roll is to maintain and manage global communications systems, both terrestrial and satellite, and other facilities as may be necessary and useful to carry out the objectives of the organization;
21. TEERS-canada, TEERS-international and TEERS-For-The-World provide support to the international rescue community and the victims during major disasters, in areas such as logistics, medical facilities and communications, and in such other areas as may be deemed necessary and within the financial and resource capabilities of the organization;
22. TEERS-canada promotes Canadian technology and assists in the integration of resources, technology, technical supply, food supply, medical supply, transportation, essential to the improvement of rescue operations during times of emergency and incidents;
23. TEERS-canada has begun a campaign to solicit donations of and to rebuild and redistribute such fire, safety and other equipment as may be donated by outside agencies. If you know of any possible donations sources please contact Command and Control
